Nice Story Zach... I personally know a lot of people selling their Iphone and replacing it with a symbian or windows mobile smartphone. The Iphone UI isn't comfortable as a phone.

The Curve didn't exist when the E61 came out. In fact, I'm pretty sure ATT stopped carrying the E61 in stores before the Curve came out... :)

Crazy story... that is almost the same exact thing that happened to me a while back, except I went into the store to buy the E61 when it came out for AT&T with a Blackberry Curve in my hand and the rep told me the Blackberry was way better!

These AT&T guys are crazy!!

LOL great story! The clerk was right the N95 is better. All the iPhone has is hype and nice web browsing. If you want to use it for things that you would use a "smartphone" for it fails and fails and fails again. By this time you might have noticed that I'm not an "i" fan. Since the iPod came out and Apple hit it big, they have seemed to forget what Apple stood for: user friendliness. All they do now is hype and try to rack in more and more $, and try to sell already existing things like they invented them. They mislead costumers (half price iPhone). They practice unfair market behavior (iPhone only ATT). I'm surprised that lawsuits are not piling up already...

hahahah, she just wanted to buy the new iphone but in the place the new iphone was being sold people were hungry for a second hand N95.....lolllll maybe thats why theres a huge line.... when someone buys the new iphone people run after them offering them to buy their old phone....lolllllllll great story Zach!!!!! can's stop laughing!!!

I agree with you. Although far superior (the n95!!) , its the internet experience thats going against the n95. Dont get me wrong. i am no apple fanboy. In fact i have a n95 too and i absolutely love it. But there are some things that iphone does better.

I was shocked when my friend couldnt forward a sms to me from his iphone!!! Is this what next gen phone is all about ? I dont need an app for sms forwarding !!!!!

Ok. Beginning to get it now.
However the fact that so many people went to buy iPhones and couldn't smells
like another publicity stunt. It may not be, but anyway this way the
attention on the big launch will stay around for a few more days.

And again, I can only congratulate that guy for not resorting to the common
sales pitch BS.

lol Sorry Vlad, it wasn't meant to be confusing. Discounting the N95 and iPhone completely, I was amused by two main points:

1. An AT&T employee told a potential customer that her phone is "better" than the AT&T phone the customer is trying to purchase.

2. Someone went into an AT&T retail store to buy a phone. She was ready to fork out the cash, no sales pitches or coercion needed. Upon arriving, not only was she told by an AT&T rep that she couldn't buy the phone she wanted, but the AT&T rep tried to buy her phone from her instead!

You know what, I don't get this. If I were you, I'd send that guy a free pizza or something. Clearly he knew his thing, namely mobile stuff. Now that is a GOOD thing, OK? I wonder what you would've thought had he said the exact opposite, something like "oh my god, that is a piece of S**T phone, you gotta buy this new iPhone...". My bet? A post on how AT&T's staff make the iPhone be something it isn't. This is SiMo, not BGR, right? Color me confused.
