your always on top of new apps, thanks for the great review.
@Stefan Shoot him an email - he might be waiting until the release later this week to get in touch with you.
@frispee Thank you for asking this question as I completely forgot to mention supported languages!
English (US and UK), Finnish, Swedish, French, German, Spanish, Italian
There are also some more in the pipeline if you don't see your native language listed.
I hope the bugs will be ironed out by release time and they'll choose better icons: the 'Options' screen icons are pretty ugly at the moment, and do not match with Nokia's default icons, kinda breaking UI consistency IMHO....
Thanx for the preview!
@Reda These are both excellent questions! To be perfectly honest, I can't answer either! :)
I haven't been using the app nearly long enough to build a sizable db that would affect operation. I imagine it would have to be several thousand entries to make a noticeable difference. I'm using an N95-3 though and I'm sure it can vary by device.
Not sure about the size limit either. I'll bring these questions to the developer's attention and ask them to either chime in here or contact me with answers. :)
I have just one question though, does Adaptxt work within other applications, such as Windows Live Messenger? If so, this would be a killer app for anyone.
very nice app, cant wait for the release.
btw, what theme is that? ;->
Now that initial development is complete, Adaptxt will be looking at compatibility with certain key apps but of course they can never address all of the programming issues in every app out there...
@LondoJowo @aero9 The theme pictured above is called Blue Satin. :)
In the current version, user additions (new words, not pattern recognition) are limited to 1,000. Note that the base dictionary contains over 40,000 words.
This also answers your question about app performance - I doubt another 1,000 would ever have an affect on a db that's already packing 40,000+. ;)
Yeah the lock feature is disabled (left key + *) on my N73 too. minor bug to a great piece of programming all round.
Cant understand why the likes of Adaptxt and TextQuick are not built into S60 operating level.
Best regards from Belfast.
Darren.
@Darren Thanks so much for the kind words! Maybe one of the freeware locking apps might help. Check out Mr Lock. :)
i just installed Adaptex on my N95, but when i try to run OperaMini 4 , and go to "Options -> Enter Address" , OperaMini 4 crashes without warning or error message! this happens when Adaptex is enabled, if i disable adaptex and try to do "options -> Enter Address" , operaMini works fine then.
anyone else has the same issue, please email them regarding it so they put some effort into fixing it sooner. thanx
And there's one ANNOYING BUG with this initial version: it doesn't work well with dark themes. Try opening the symbols window while writina a message (with the * key) and you'll see that the symbols are black on a dark background: they are just unreadable. I notice this with Psiloc Reflect Theme, don't know if the bug s present with all dark themes.
Can you tell the guys at Keypoint to pay attention to this bug Zach ?
At this point, no French dictionnary plus that bug, the app is just no use for me...:-(
As for the dictionaries, shoot them an email. Perhaps you need to download from a different location to get the alternative dictionaries.
i recnetly posted on how how Adaptxt causes Opera Mini 4 to crash on N95 as soon as i try to do in Opera Mini 4 (Options -> Enter Address), then opera Mini crashes immediately with Adaptxt enabled.
This is new, and it's to do with SkyeQuikey and Adaptxt. basically when Adaptxt is enabled on my N95, SkyeQuikey no longer works. Normally SkyeQuikey sits in background, hidden in idle screen, and when you press some keypad number it find matching contacts, programs...etc. but with Adaptxt enabled,SkyeQuikey is simply in freeze mode, pressing keypad number does not except hide the right and left selection keys operations title (eg, Messaging . Profile) and that's it. When adaptxt is disabled, SkyeQuikey works as expected. I've reported both of the issues, no replies from them yet.
Zach, did you get a trial version with French dictionnary inside ? If yes, could you post a link here please ? I fear the file I need won't be available before the trial period ends, and I would be unable to test it before buying...
@john Yes the SkyeQuiKey issue is one that I reported to them during beta testing so rest assured they're working on it.
C'mon guys, you've just screwed my morning up...
Any clues what's going on and/or when the product might actually appear ?
I write norwegian, but sometimes I write a few words in english.. The norwegian word "tid" (meaning "time") is on the same buttons as "the".. So if I've written "tid" 4 times and "the" 3 times, "tid" will be suggested first? And if I then write "the" two more times, "the" will be suggested first instead.. Am I right?
If that is correct, this application fits me perfect!! My name "Arne" is by default norwegian T9 suggested after "åpne" (open) and "brød" (bread) - and I write "Arne" WAY more often than "åpne" or "brød"..

and click on the 7 day trial button to the left, it will let you download a signed .sis-file.. :)
On the options screen below each icon, and on the suggestion box when typing - all text is corrupted and just shows as little square boxes.
Hopefully a simple font fix is all that's needed.
* the english dictionary can't be disabled (not that cool when I'm writing norwegian based on the 1000 custom words)
* when restarting the phone, it doesn't remember that I want the custom words-list to be prioritised above the english dictionary
* when entering words manually, the norwegian characters æøå isn't availible (normally it's abc2æå and mno6ø)
* it makes the phone way much slower
