Rufio: Max OS X offers the same functionality without any 3rd party application. Just go to the Adress Book and click the bluetooth button. Now you can send SMS through your phone to any of your contacts.

I've tried the trial version, and when sending non-english sms, it arrives as question marks (no problem when receiving sms messages though).

guess it's back to the drawing board...

what about using Nokia PC phone...same functionalities..it works on XP, and you can connect phone by bluethoot!! it works with mozilla and IE.

Umm, can't you already do this with Nokia PC phone, the Nokia Yahoo Widgets and the Nokia text message editor supplied with Nokia PC Suite?

So how can this be the first to do it with S60 3rd and Windows XP?

Looks great, I was a bit disapointed I couldn\'t use Text Messenger so I\'ve had to stick with using Genie Texter when I want to send messages from my PC, this would be a much better solution!

This looks like a great app - I was very interested in Nokia's take on this except I am at an XP machine most of the day, so that kind of killed it. So hopefully I can get a free copy of this and if not, there's a good chance that I will buy a copy of this.

Thanks, indeed looks interesting.
Somehow I find it hard to pair my Nokia N95 8GB with the application, even though my ThinkPad T43 has a Widcomm stack. I keep getting an error message: "Failed to connect!".
Ideas anyone?

Thanks for the link - I'll check it out. My old SE phone had support for this with an open-source application - you could do almost everything through that. I miss that application, even though I can't remember the name of it.

I'm definitely with you - phones should just automatically transfer control to the PC when within range (although not disabling the phone, just let the PC be the default means of interfacing).

I tried the browser based text messaging provided by Nokia, but I found it to be entirely unreliable. It only ever alerted me of incoming messages once, and the Inbox was always poorly sorted.

This, however, looks promising.
