Symbian in Motion: Camera Phones

I'm a big fan of Mobile phone (Specially Macro) photography, and I'm sure that sometimes the N95,N82 and the N95 8GB can do better than a professional cam.You don't keep your cam with you all the time, and even if you do so,you can't keep it switched on an and running all the time.So when you need to capture something, sometimes by the time you power it up and press the button, there wont be anything to capture. But in the case of mobile photography, this wont happen,so you'll end up with a relatively and satisfactorily good photo(with the 5mp Nokia giants I mean). So isn't that enough???Indeed I'm agree that there shoud be dedicated devices for professional photography, but for a mobile I think now it has grown up to the era of competition.

i so agree, the other day a few friends and me were just messing around during a free period at school and i took out my N95 and snaped a pic just for the moment, like a month later i transfered it to my comp and i really was amazed at the sharpness it was really like moment than and i emailed the pic to my friends and they all had the same reaction:

'was taken from your phone', i just my N95 more now!!!

Ha! Unfortunately this isn't one for the interwebs but I'm sure we all have seen some great pics that illustrate the N95 cam well... ;)

Fair enough! and yes - I have lots of pics that show off the N95 - even had one published on the BBC news website :)

A wise man once said "the best camera you own is the one you take with you" and I couldn't agree more.

Being a professional photographer I'm really anal about good quality pics. Phones will never reach DSLR levels since the lens is just too small and the CCD also. BUT I can relate to many of you since I use my E51 as a camera too. Manly if I need to capture a document or a price of an item in a store, it's perfect, no need for paper. Also the video option is very cool to have. Motion picture is just great at times. Recently my friends and I went to TESCO and bought a DVD player with change (coins) and I taped it secretly with my E51. Nobody noticed it, why would they, it's just a phone :D I will have the footage up on Youtube or something and I'll share it with you.
So in conclusion, go camera phone! It won't replace normal cameras, but a handy thing to have, and I wouldn't buy a phone without it anymore :D

Hahaha - looking forward to that video ;)

Heh - Someone on Jaiku was saying that you can't comment from the S60 browser on blogs using Disqus. I was proving them wrong... ;)

I love cellphones which have a powerful camera.

I was believing camera phones can never and will never replace good quality good stand-alone digital cameras until i got N95.
