Actually it's been proven pretty safe but like anything else if it becomes overused - then too mch of anything is bad.

As far as batteries go, I actually have been reading some interesting stuff recently. For example, about a year ago I read about a new technology that MIT was developing. It uses virus cells to build much smaller and much more powerful batteries. Pretty interesting!

Re: Countdown to the WildCharge Wireless Charger

Granted I do think this is truly awesome (not the cancer it will cause, but the concept in general) but I would still prefer they develop a better battery!
Alkaline... Zinc-Carbon... Lithium-Ion... Atomic-Nuclear!??!!?

Oh, and if it is proven that this technology causes cancer then I am #$%^&* cause the only electronic that I put closer to my mouth than my cell has had this technology for years... my Sonicare Toothbrush!

Re: Countdown to the WildCharge Wireless Charger

Lol I wish it would work like that! :)

The future is very bright for this technology but like anything else, it has its ups and downs...

The positive: We will be able to charge anything anywhere - wirelessly!

The negative: We will all become sterile from all of the electromagnetic fields!

;)

Re: Countdown to the WildCharge Wireless Charger

well, that's sure a way of seeing things, i honestly didn't think about that. but it will be nice if it's implemented like u describe it. Can we charge ourselves too? :p

Re: Countdown to the WildCharge Wireless Charger

lol - looks like Jonny was in rare form yesterdy... ;)

@Rita

You're right about using devices as they charge (at least in the early stages of this application of electromagnetic induction) but think about this:

You walk into a bar and place your mobile on the bar as you sit down - it's charging!

You go to a restaurant and place you mobile on the table beside your plate - it's charging!

You place your mobile on a small square area in your car/on a plane/on a train/in an airport/etc - it's charging!

These are just a few examples of where this technology will be going...

Also forgot to mention, on 7/7/2007 when it is first released, the Wireless Charger will be available is several different sizes. :)

Re: Countdown to the WildCharge Wireless Charger

hmmmm that's good but it also wood be good if it could charge it from a distance... The advantage of this would be the use for different devices at the same time. But still you obviously can not use the device while it's charging, while with common chargers u have around 2m range, and you can hold ur device, use it, ... still, a good technology.

Re: Countdown to the WildCharge Wireless Charger

I'd be curious to see the effects of this device if you were to slide it under your pillow case and sleep with your face against it, but that's just me. :P This is an awesome idea.
