My question is who uses this list?
Gobs of visitors each day are using it, we're getting loads of submissions to it daily. It's being utilized alot more than I ever initially thought it would.
who moderates and maintains it?
Our S60 online marketing team - Me, Tiia, Saara, and Juha. I think Juha mostly, although he's taken some time off to prepare for his exams, but he's back now.
There should be an RSS feed for the wishlist.
Yup, absolutely. It's coming.
Is there a notification sent to the post author when someone responds to a wish?
Not sure, but that's an excellent idea!!
Someone needs to maintain this list. We know that everyone involved with s60.com is quite busy, but when people post wishes for apps that exist why not reply?
We ARE busy!! :-) Really busy actually. I think it's tough for us to know every app available, that's why we rely on the S60 community to participate, which they have!
We've learned alot from phase 1 of the Application Wish, and we're already busy working on improving it. You raised some excellent points in your post and I know we're addressing each one of them and more!
But hey, great post, thanks for that feedback! Keep it coming!!
Thanks for the very fast and detailed response! The points that you made and the info you provided are good indicators that you guys surely take the wishlist seriously and you're working hard to build off of the foundation that you've created. A question: What is the goal of the wishlist? Is it to give Nokia an insight into the needs/wants of the consumer? Is it to give Nokia AND third party developers an insight into the needs/wants of the consumer?
In either case, I think that there are many ways to make the list more beneficial to those intended to benefit from it.
For example, why not allow registered s60.com members to comment on wishes? I've seen several posts and thought, "Wow that's a great idea but it would be even better if..." This might help Nokia and/or other developers by letting consumers build on what started as an "okay" idea and possibly turn it into a "great" idea. It would also let other members 'support' an idea. There is a rating function that might help you guys internally, but other don't know if the wish that has a rating of 9.5 got three votes or 300 votes.
Thanks again for your response! I can't wait to see the next phase of the wishlist come to fruition. Of course everyone knows that I love apps and the concept of the s60.com wishlist really has the potential to provide excellent building blocks for developers!
:)
By the way, I hope Juha did well on his exams!
I'm not sure what the official business case of the wishlist is. But I reckon it's what you've suggested - Users can find 3rd party apps easier and give ideas for undeveloped apps. Developers can get ideas of what to develop. S60 platform developers can get ideas as well.
For example, why not allow registered s60.com members to comment on wishes?
Yes, excellent idea! I'm guessing that's in the plans.

I know for sure that that's changing to a Digg-style thumbs up/down system.

And thanks for your feedback!!!!
Yup, I know it's checked multiple times per week, maybe every weekday.
