That would be pretty nice indeed - although TT does have an internal version that works with the integrated GPS. Hopefully they'll release it soon as it's my favorite option including Garmin Mobile XT which is what I'm using now...

Yeah- some kind of local loop that would allow interoperability between TomTom and the internal N95 would be fantastic... I immediately thought the same thing. It would be difficult for the device to find it's own bluetooth address though.

Hmm, i was hoping that with this app i could use TomTom with the internal GPS (via bluetooth connection to and from my N95)
too bad it doesn't work.....

Hey it is all too well to use your n95 as a gps gadget for your laptop but what use is it? I mean you can have preinstaled maps on your phone and it lets you know where you are. Gmaps does that? What is the point?

Yeah, i did not set it as trusted device in my N95. Also, I didn't set the service as connect automaticly. So, when I did... it really worked like a charm! When I connected (with google earth pro) with the GPS device, it connected automaticly and did not drop the connection! I love it!

I can confirm that ExtGPS on my N95-3 will connect to both an N800 running OS2008 and the N82.

I use Maemo Mapper (OS2008) in my N800 and it can connect to the GPS in my N82. But since I am now inside a building, my N82 cannot get any GPS signal. I will try again later.

Ricardo, sure it works.

DrogerT, have you paired your phone with your computer and set it as trusted in your phone? All I get is those two startup dialogs no matter how many times I connect. And the connection is automatic for me as long as the BT is enabled, just starting MS AutoRoute connects automagically to ExtGPS

@DrogerT Sorry I almost missed this one! The issue here is the way that S60 currently handles java apps and unless the author decides to release a native Symbian version I think it might be a PIA that we're stuck with...

I tried it yesterday with my N95 and Google Earth Pro. Worked like a Charm! It clearly shows where you at in realtime. The only thing that was bothering me is that once the Bluetooth connection (and thus the EXTGPS service)was made, and I was fiddling with Google Earth, the Bluetooth connection was dropped a few times. Then when it wanted to connect again, My N95 asked if its allright to make the connection which is a bit anoying. When connection is lost, it has to connect on its own, and not ask me if its okey...

Also, it doesn't connect automaticly once in 'EXTGPS' mode. You have to go to your bluetooth places on the PC and connect with the service. Only then its possible to work with Google earth Pro and EXTGPS(maybe i'm doing something wrong with this?)

Huh. I'll give it a shot tonight and let you know how it goes. I didn't even think of that! I use an LD-3W with my tablet but it would be pretty sweet if I could ditch it all together!

Can someone, anyone, comment on if this works to use your N95's GPS with your N800? I have the N800 firmly in my sights, but the GPS features of the N810 are somewhat tempting. If this works, N800 here I come!
