    hi all,

First of all THANKS to all of you :-)

In future version, i'm going to update sliders with font names to something more useful. e.g. Messaging fonts , Menu fonts e.t.c.

Your feed back regarding which fonts are used in which applications would be really helpful. New ideas are also welcome.

    Thanks

f***ing drm s**t. I am happy to pay $10 for a useful utility. But I like to test b4 I buy. I installed this thing and tried to run it on my E61 for the last 2 hours. I only got connection errors but nothing else. Start trusting your (potential) customers, get rid of the DRM crap and we might do business.
  • zach · 2 years ago
Hey tobi, care to go into more detail about the connection errors that you're receiving? This app doesn't need to make any connections in its operation which is why I'm asking...

The DRM issue really is no mystery. As we all know, it has nothing to do with trusting potential customers but instead is a measure taken to prevent theft facilitated by particular groups, which we all know is rampant. The DRM solution that Psiloc employs has worked quite well to this point and I'm sure that they have made a fair investment in it. As such, there is no reason to ditch it.

In terms of trying before you buy, there is a free trial/demo period of 14 days (I believe it's 14) with this app. Is it not working properly for you. Psiloc's support team is pretty responsive and I'm sure that they would be glad to help you with your troubles if you contact them.

    Thx :)
  • tobi · 2 years ago
Thanks zach. Sorry for my lingo. I was frustrated and irrational. I will contact them tomorrow and give it another try.
  • zach · 2 years ago
No worries tobi. Believe me, as much as I love my N80 it DEFINITELY has the power to p*ss me off! In fact, you should see the pain I'm going through to get all of my apps and settings back after upgrading my firmware! If only the backup/restore functionality would work!!

Last night an alarm woke me up at 2am! I found that after I formatted my phone a few days ago and resynced all of my calendar entries from Outlook, all of the alarm times were messed up! So I took an hour to fix them all - and now I have to go through that PIA again today after upgrading... :(
  • zach · 2 years ago
btw, what's up with the terrible quality of the menu screenshots in this post?? lol I didn't even notice it! I better check my screenshot settings...

This app caused my N75 not to reboot. I had to remove my memory card in order to reboot and remove the app from my memory card. Same thing happened to Darla.
  • zach · 2 years ago
Hey John, thanks for mentioning your problem here. It's important to note that with this app - and any other Psiloc app that has background processes running at all times - you should install it on your phone memory. Gsync had similar problems when installed on the MMC but I believe they're now sorted.

At any rate, you'll also experience better battery performance if you install such apps on your phone memory.
  • John · 2 years ago
While that may be true I have never experienced this problem with any other app. If I had installed to the phone memory and the phone wouldn't restart removing the memory card would not have allowed me to get phone restarted.
  • Hameed · 2 years ago
Those who're using N75 with branded firmware (rest may too :-) )
please keep checking for new version on our website.

    tnx
  • Mr G · 2 years ago

    Looking forward to it.

There is another powerful font tool called FontRouter, which provide not only font size adjust, but also font redirection. As a special feature, you can activate the anti-aliased effect on all TrueType fonts in your phone.

    After all, it's a freeware!
  • zach · 2 years ago
Thanks for the comment Oasis Feng! :) Any chance of linking a site that might have some details on this app in English? Thanks!
  • John · 2 years ago
I downloaded and installed the new version. I went ahead and purchased a license. After registering the app will not open. It opens to the screen that says drm solutions and immediately closes. Posibly still some bugs with the N75?
  • zach · 2 years ago
I would definately send an email to Psiloc support and I'm sure that they'll be more than happy to help you. Preliminarily though, I have the best results with Psiloc apps if I install them to phone memory, and install by transferring the sis/sisx to phone memory and launching the installation with a file browser (rather than using the PC Suite app installer). May want to uninstall and try that while you wait for their reply.
  • John · 2 years ago
Zach that did the trick. Thanks so much.
  • zach · 2 years ago
No worries John, glad I could help. :)
  • Mr G · 2 years ago
Downloaded the new version and it says it's the same version as the one i have, the original one!?!?
  • hameed · 2 years ago

    Any feedback are always welcome.
  • Mr G · 2 years ago
Now it's installing the new version,i installed the previous version twice today thinking it was the new version.

  • BG Mahesh · 2 years ago
Excellent post! We have been working with Unicode fonts (on the web) and lately on the mobile. Unless the mobile has builtin fonts we are unable to view the Unicode font.

Is there anyway to introduce a new Unicode font in a mobile?

  • zach · 2 years ago
Thanks for the comment BG Mahesh :)

As far as your question is concerned, I think that your best bet with finding an answer will be on forum.nokia.com - where the developers play. ;)

    Hope that helps!
  • benji_b · 2 years ago
This is one of the most useful applications in my years of using/downloading mobile applications. Thank you very much!!!
  • benji_b · 2 years ago
do you have a version which doesn't expire? Thanks!
  • zach · 2 years ago
None of the versions expire once you purchase a license code from shop.psiloc.com! :)

Will the Psiloc FontMagnifier works with the Nokia E50?
  • npnagdev · 2 years ago
realy I am very thankful for you for font magnifier. Now it is very easy to read any masage or phone book on screen of Nokie E.50
  • zach · 2 years ago
@npnagdev I'm glad you're enjoying it! Psiloc did a great job of filling a serious void on S60 with this one...
  • Boggy · 2 years ago
Hi, I've installed your Trial font magnifier on my nokia N73. Works great on all but contacts. Is this just the way it is or is there a problem. The contact info on this phone is particularly small and hard to read. (with my eyes anyway). Please let me know, Thanks
  • zach · 2 years ago
@Boggy you should definitely send a quick note over to the Psiloc support team as I don't know if they still monitor this post. I don't have the app installed right now so I can't easily test it out for you.
  • Chris · 2 years ago
How would the licence work I have 30 phones so do i have to buy the software 30 times?
  • Qarmuty · 2 years ago
    Font Magnifier by Psiloc
  • zach · 2 years ago
@Chris 30 phones!! Well this is something that you would certainly have to discuss with Psiloc but I'm sure that they would try to accommodate some kind of bulk discount. I doubt they would allow your to make only one purchase and receive 30 license codes though...
  • subhash modi · 2 years ago
please get me this softwere becose i feel truble to see small font
  • zach · 2 years ago
Thanks for the comment subhash. You'll find a link to purchase this application above in second paragraph of my review.
  • qmike.sg · 2 years ago
Hi, Where can I find the free trial (which Darla mentioned)first before I purchase? Coz I wants to be sure its suitable for me and also will reccomend to most of my friends whom find difficult with their small fonts.
    many thanks.
  • zach · 2 years ago
If you download the regular installer from Psiloc's site, you will get a 7 or 10 day trial for free (I don't remember if it's 7 or 10 days). After that the app will stop working until you purchase a license code.

I bought a Nokia E65 and tried to install psiloc fontmagnifier downloaded from their site but after installation it says that the application "has expired". How to get rid of the old installattion the previous owner made?
  • Q. Mike · 2 years ago
    Hi Zach,
Thank you very much for your information.
  • Derek · 1 year ago
Hi, I used font magnifier for most of last year no probs butI have just updated firmware on n73 (4.07) and tried reinstalling font magnifier countless times. It refuses to run an just says \
  • Derek · 1 year ago
Sorry lost half the reply? It says "please reinstall th application" I've reinstalled 6times (with different downloads) still no luck. Contacted psiloc but still no response.Looking at the psiloc forum it seems some folks have had it much worse than me! BEWARE!!
  • Zach · 1 year ago
Very odd Derek. As painful as it is, have you tried formatting your device? If not, don't do anything that drastic just yet. I'll send an email to one of my contacts and cc you so let's see what we can do. I have to say that they're normally very responsive so I can't imagine why they haven't gotten back to you...

I was download the Psiloc Font Magnifier. But I dont have the activation code. So, anybody can help me to send the activation code of Psiloc Font Magnifier. Any answer please reply at my email. (honda_boyz89@yahoo.com)
  • M · 8 months ago
Excellent application. I think it shouldn't really be needed because Nokia/Symbian should have variable fonts like this built in, but this app does an excellent job and is easy to use. (The DRM stuff is a bit of a pain, but that's something we have to live with I guess.)
