Nice 1, i was waiting for this a long time ago. Now they should update gmail as well! Maybe make gDocs mobile!
  • zach · 2 years ago
Thanks for the comment Michael - and mobile gDocs would be fantastic! I can't wait for the day that I can uninstall MS Office and never look back... ;)

this app is awesome. loads fast, the search is better, and you can save locations to your contacts. WOW. works great on my n73
  • zach · 2 years ago
Yeah it really is great! I think I had a GPS lock in less than five seconds when I tested it!

And thanks for mentioning the contact feature - I hadn't yet found that in the short time I played. Awesome feature :)

That's funny, I used to live very close to that screen shot. Right by where Route 80 intersects route 287. Very cool :) I've already downloaded it to my E61 and using with external BT.

Ah - the intersection of 80 and 287 haunts my nightmares on a nightly basis! ;) I commute from Bergen County to Morristown every day so I know it well...

is anyone elses gmaps icon a puzzle piece? my previous version had a nice google'esque compass...
  • zach · 2 years ago
Odd - I have a (bigger) compass. What device are you using?
  • frombe · 2 years ago
aha, I just re-installed using the nokia browser in stead of opera and the icon is back now. I immediately noticed the download page explicitely mentioned a 'symbian OS 9.1 download'. I wonder what version I was using then?
  • zach · 2 years ago
Very odd - I'm not sure what version you had previously. As long as it's working now. :)

@mike & zach: How did you get the "locations to contacts"-feature to work correctly? When I try to save an address it saves it as a NEW contact where the street name is the company's "name" under details. Isn't it possible to add the address to an existing contact directly? If not, then this feature is pretty useless...
  • zach · 2 years ago
To be honest Tuomas I still haven't gotten around to testing that feature yet. I'll definitely try to check it out today though and report back here.
  • zach · 2 years ago
OK, finally got around to testing it last night and I actually like it a lot! I was at a new restaurant and I wanted to store it. Brought up the address and saved it to my contacts. It worked quite well for me - all of the data was in the proper fields and I just renamed the entry and I was done. :)

It would be nice to be able to add an address to an existing contact but unfortunately it's not supported in this version.
