Symbian in Motion: Is Nokia Experiencing Build Issues with Another Upcoming Device?

  • pete · 2 years ago
I'm fairly certain that I've seen other Nokia device manuals that refer to the antenna being at the bottom of the device. I could be mistaken... perhaps it was another brand, but for some reason I wind up reading more Nokia manuals :-)

I too know of other brands/models that have used this configuration but it looks like something was missed in this particular design... :(

Nokia certainly has had the antenna at the bottom of e.g. 6126/6131, most likely in 6555, the N76 and probably others. Not sure if they've had it there in a slider phone before though. I am SURE the problem can and is being solved (IF there is one). There is no way they would have let the device go this far otherwise.

Perhaps it gives problems to those retards who keep moving the phone between their ear and the mouth as if the phone would not otherwise pick their speech.. lol.. I am sure you've all seen those folks.

Yeah to be honest I'm not sure why the N81 would be affected by this and other models unaffected but suffice it to say that I have it on pretty good authority that they're having issues. Perhaps the problem is caused by other components positioned near the antenna? I just hope it's resolved and soon... :)

Well, you can always see the internal photos of N81 from the FCC website to see the details:https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/prod/oet/forms/blobs/retrieve.cgi?attachment_id=817956&native_or_pdf=pdf

I'm having problem with my 2-day old N81. It has weak antenna! The signal drops quickly when I'm holding the phone or when I'm texting. I just found out 2 hrs ago that the antenna is placed at the bottom part at the back. Haven't Nokia thought that the antenna will be blocked by the hand when held??? Is there anyone experiencing this problem also? Is there any remedy for this??? Help!...
