heya! i ordered an A-data 4 gb micro sdhc card and i isn't working in my nokia n95. the reason is the 11.0.026 software ? i bought the phone in england and this is the newest version fog england phones :S
how can i upgrade it another way ?! i hope somebody will send me a mail or something, thank u.

Hey BJ - I'm not sure what you mean by "cover". In terms of GSM Voice/EDGE both phones will work perfectly on any GSM network in the world. If you mean 3G coverage, then no the N95-1 will not work in the US as stated above. The N95-3 is the only S60 device other than the N75 that will currently work with US (AT&T;) 3G. I'm not sure what network provider you have but if they use the same 3G frequency as Europe, and if 3G is important to you, then you should definitely go with the N95-1. Just make sure you update the firmware as soon as you get it!

Im having a hard time deciding between the n95-1 and the n95-3. Since the n95-1 covers regions of Africa, Europe Asia pacific and the United states and the n95-3 only covers north and latin america i find it hard to choose. the only two places i travell are the Us and Uk. by the way i live in the Caribeean. can U please help me

I know several people using SDHC cards in the N91-1 so yes. Of course I guess there could be limitations in certain firmware regions, but I haven't heard anything like that reported.

As for the N95 8GB - the RAM alone is worth the upgrade in my opinion. There's also the bigger battery, bigger screen, new MM menu etc.

It's a matter of preference though. If I had an N95-1 and was deciding whether or not to upgrade, it would be a tough choice with the improvements in the new v20 N95 firmware. I'd probably wait until the first round of FP2 phones comes along.

Are you sure that n95-1 can support 8GB memory card?! If yes... i don't see the utility of the N95-8GB!

@Joseph I haven't measured them but the newer model does seem to be a bit thicker to the eye. I can tell you that the Nokia Flagship stores carries N95 cases that fit the new model just fine.

I will also however, tell you NOT to buy the CP-191 leather case from Nokia. It looks great but there are two huge flaws: 1. There is no way to comfortably hold the case open while talking on the phone. 2. The phone is held in place by four small plastic clips; one in each corner. These clips hold the phone very securely but putting my phone in the case and removing it just four or five times has caused the clips to rub the outer-most layer off in one of the corners of my N95.

What a terrible design!

I've read several reviews now that are stating that the N95-3 is "slightly thicker" than the "N-95 Lite" - but all the specs I could find on the new model state the thickness at 21mm - which is exactly the same thickness as the N95 original??
I also measured my N95-3 with a digital Caliper and it indeed comes in at 21mm

Are you (and others) talking apparent thickness vs actual thickness?

My reason for inquiring is that I'm trying to find a case for the newly released N95-3 which nobody seems to have yet - but of course there are plenty for the "N-95 Lite" - which seems to me to be the same size - except for all these reviewers comments about being "slightly thicker"

@Bruce Those are definitely valid reasons, no question. If the added RAM and battery life is appealing to you though (using only 3G in Japan, you must carry 3 extra batteries with you! :) ) you might look into an APAC variant of the N95 8GB. If and when we get a US version of the 8GB that'll likely be my next step, depending on what FP2 brings us of course...

Thanks for your review! The only reason that I'm not upgrading to the N95-3 from my "N95 lite" is that I travel to Japan frequently and need my phone's 3G coverage there (since Japan doesn't do GSM). Also, I like my phone's support for Chinese characters (it's a Singapore model).

Admittedly, that's not a big deal to most users, but for me those features outweigh the advantages of the USA N95.

All 3 variants of the N95 use the TI 2420 processor at approx 330Hz.

What's the processing speed of N95-3? apparently nokia has used a smaller 292mhz processor to improve the battery life on N95 8GB, jBenchmark tests confirm that. Since, this device has a similar build and feature set (except for the inbuilt 8GB memory), i have a doubt that the case would be same for this device too.
