Good Session Zach.
It's a tragic shame on the Symbian Signed situation, I think one way Nokia could perhaps sort out this signing business in an individual aspect is to add signing unsigned apps via Carbide perhaps. But restrict to to your IMEI only. I know this won't help against piracy, but really can it really be stopped without neglecting other positive productivity for Symbian in general?
Regarding piracy, I just don't think that's even on their radar. IMO why would they care if an app gets pirated? Their dealings are with the developer and they get paid regardless of how many copies of an app get sold or stolen. All commercial apps are signed and piracy is still a huge issue.
I wonder what "benefits" are marketed to developers by Symbian Signed. I know that many developers read this blog so I would love to see some comments. Other than the fact that you really can't effectively offer an app to the public without it being signed, what benefits did Symbian Signed pitch to you before they took your first payment?
Of course I'll understand if deelopers don,t want to comment on this matter...
