I understand the decision man, and good luck to you in all things moving forward -- I've enjoyed the chats (which will doubtlessly continue).
Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaterrrrrr!
It was a pleasure reading SiMo, best luck for the future to you and to Abul!
I completely understand though. I'm gonna miss reading all the software reviews for sure. Most of my favorite applications on my phone were ones that I first read about here.
Peace out, guys. Good luck with your other endeavors.
But i think it is better to end it with all consecences, instead of a slow death.
Thanks for all the work an time you put into simo and good luck for your futur projects.
I'm sure i will drop by.

It was a pleasure guys, SiMo will be missed!
You both have excellent work and i wish you all the best in the future!
I agree that changes have to occur in S60 in order for it to move forward, I have been pondering these for a LONG time, but if a change has to be made, it's only through the influencing voices of people like you that it can get to the ears of those who are able to make it.
Anyway, good luck on the Outsidr (and BGR), Zach, it has been a very nice ride with SiMo, especially that I was a regular reader ever since the beginning. And thank you for this post, because as always, you made me realize something new through your writing. Sometimes I got to know a new app, other times a new service, others a new tip or trick... Today I learned that I am even further than I though from leaving S60. I am sticking, not because I believe in the platform, but because I believe in the same people that you praise in your post.
As for me ditching S60, that won't be happening any time soon. Though my daily carrier these days isn't a Nokia handset I still have and love my N95 8GB and my E71. Nokia really shines when it comes to building phones but since it was decided at the top that Nokia would become an "internet company", advancement has really been stunted in terms of Nokia's hardware (and OS). They continue to push out striking and capable devices but when you look at them closely, little has changed in the past few years.
As I touch upon above, Nokia has been sitting pretty at the top for far too long. The impression I get is: "Hey we sell all these handsets so let's focus on services that will increase our revenue per device rather than focus on new customer acquisition." They couldn't have picked a worse time for this approach because it has basically left their core business standing still while the competition heats up like never before.
The future is going to be awesome in this space, and I'm confident that Nokia will eventually decide to join the party. ;)
Nokia and S60 news are getting more boaring each day, that's why I haven't blogged alot this summer, and that's why all of my new posts contain huge portions of anger and rants.
SiMo will definitely be missed, good luck to you two Zach and Abul, Hope you don't do this kind of posts on your personal blogs.
Anyway stay tuned for a fully refreshed Symbian version of Palringo towards the end of the month.
(and of course, we're glad to have played a part in stimulating comments!)
Good luck !

As I'm sure you've noticed however, I haven't had time to create in depth posts like I have in the past and that was another reason for closing this blog - no time to create the kind of posts I wanted to create. Hopefully someone out there will pick up the slack. ;)
Here is hoping we deliver in the coming months, years and you sure as hell bet the upcoming decade.
Thanks for the contribution and hope to see another facet of this.
Sometimes it is good to leave something and move ahead... but sometimes its best not to leave somethings behind. I hope you will not leave this blog and its power be diluted. Sometimes you have to fight against the tide.
Best of luck!
Good luck in everything you do I know you will always succeed. Just stay true and you will be fine.
Peace,
Rob
