What a fun app! I'm like you, I've seen it around quite a bit but never really paid attention to it.

Please let me know (or update this post) if you hear anything from the developers. Fingers crossed they don't go carrier-only.

Just FYI, I added a little update to the post to show Text Chat a bit better. As you can now see more clearly, it's a cool alternative to the ThreadedSMS app that you reviewed recently (which I like btw - did you notice how it integrates with CoolSMS+?).

I find threadedSMS to be a memory hog. Hopefully this can be fixed in upcoming releases.

I had an idea like this sometime ago and its great to see this existing as a product now. I wanted a simple recording to be available to answer calls for me as I exited conferences - no more rushing to exits, no more whispered greetings with pleas "to hold on I'll be there in a mo' "

and a question...about how to get this great app...

Is this the same product that can be purchased from Handango at this address :-

Thanks for the comment Phillip. :) It is a great concept for an app and Silent has done a really good job putting it together.

As for how you can get it - you'll have to contact them. For the time being this app is only available through carriers in certain regions. The link that you provided was to an older version that I don't think Silent wants to publicize (which is why I removed it, sorry) and it's not compatible with S60 3rd.

TalkinSilent allows an S60 3rd user to carry on a conversation with a caller - without ever saying a word! Let me elaborate. The core functionality of this app uses preinstalled messages and it's so nice.
