You can delete just the dat file is you wish. The system will recreate both when needed. I just find it easier to delete the folder. One less step anyway.

Exactly! I fully support "KISS" in all that I do... (Keep it Simple, Stupid) ;)

Hey, that's not the only method. You've inspired me to write a post about the other way to fix the T9. Click over to read about it. :)

Just checked it out - thanks for the alternative method Jonny. :) That's definitely more convenient when you have tons of words that you've already taught the phone and you don't want to lose them...

Although I am a BB user who can selectively delete the words I choose in SureType...

Another way to go about it is to change the auto-correct options (I am sure you S60 people can do that) and set it up to revert to what you want.

hehe Actually s60 doesn't include an auto-correct feature with t9. You can add it with an app (QuickWrite) but then you have to use tap which is a pia unless it's on a full keyboard device. I use it on my e61i for example. With t9 we're currently limited in that respect, for now at least...

Cheers Zach, worked a treat. Id been racking my brain for months how to remove the 'word' Aof from my dictionary.

Yeah, I wish the was an app to control the user library and make things easier but I'm glad this helped!

t seems that every time I add a new word to the user dictionary it replaces a more commonly used word. I make enough mistakes with T9 so the last thing I need is “yes” being replaced by “WEP” every time I type it, just because I was talking to someone amonth ago about WiFi security… I’m sure that everyone reading this right now has experienced this annoying scenario.
