850 is used in places like japan (superG) and Australia (or was it new zealand?) where they already use 2100 networks as their original 3G network, but added 850 to expand to more areas. Sadly, I don't think Nokia was thinking of the US ;-)

I would like to see more 900/850/1900/1700/2100 3G chips - to cover all bases.

Thanks Ben - I guess I slept through that part! I even pinged four Nokia / S60 bloggers prior to posting and they had heard nothing of it. I wonder if it's too late to send my -2 back... ;)

All three were announced at launch - the product manager talked me through them at the London event.
